This session is a thirty minute session for preschool children (recommended ages 3-5). This is a good for your children to learn to skate as they will learn how to be independent on the ice. They will progress weekly with games and fun learning activities without realizing that they are doing it on their own. Your child will learn basic skating skills such as falling down and getting up, go forward, go backwards, making snow, and more through fun games. This program will encourage your child to progress through the CanSkate program as his/her skill level increases. |

Precanskate |

Juniors |
|
Is the next step from CanSkate. Juniors are stages 5-7 from the CanSkate program. This program has two ninety minute sessions twice a week. They will continue to learn the basic skills and learn how to use them in more advanced techniques. Beyond the stages they will learn the beginner skating skills and dances. They will also do a thirty minute synchronized skating session once a week to learn the basics to synchronized skating. They will also do a fifteen minute stroking session once a week to learn strength development through skating. Juniors are a good stepping stone to Intermediates as they will also have semi-private lessons with professional coaches each session. Semi-private lessons will be mandatory and billed out to the parents from the certified coaches. |

Seniors |

This session is for skaters at the Junior Bronze and higher levels. The senior program is for the skater who wishes to pursue recreational, test, or competitive competitions. Your child will learn skating skills, freeskate, dance, and interpretive through private lesson with a certified coach. Private lessons must be booked with a certified coach before hand. All private lessons will be billed out to the parents from the certified coach. |

Synchronized Skating |

This is a fun team sport for skaters who have completed Canskate and want to keep skating. The program involves a group of skaters performing various group formations and maneuvers. This team activity is for skaters who enjoy skating and competing as part of a team. |

Adult Synchronized Skating |
|
The synchronized program is a program for those adult skaters who are “ sure on their feet “ and would like to be involved in a group skating program. Skaters registered in the synchronized program must be able to skate backwards. The program involves a group of skaters performing various group formations and maneuvers. This team activity is for skaters who enjoy skating and competing as part of a team. Skaters must be 16 for this program. |

This is a forty-five minute learn to skate session for children of all ages. The objectives of this program include learning proper techniques for forward skating, backward skating, stopping, turning, jumping and spinning through a series of stages. When you sign up for CanSkate you will be in a program that focuses on fun, participation and basic skill development. You will earn badges and other incentives as you learn the fundamental skating skills. Skaters progress at their own rate and coaches make sessions active using teaching aids, music and a wide variety of activities that create a fun environment and promote learning. |

This session is designed for skaters who are at the Pre-Preliminary and Preliminary levels & Jr. Bronze. Intermediate skaters receive private lessons which must be booked directly through one of the professional coaches. All private lessons will be billed to the parents from the certified coaches. The registration fee for this level includes ice time only. Intermediates is the stepping stone to Seniors. |

Intermediates |

This is a program for hockey players who can skate the length of the ice both forwards and backwards without falling. Skaters should also be able to stop or be working on correct stops. CanPower is an action-packed, high energy instructional power skating program geared to hockey players that focuses on balance, power, agility, speed and endurance. Skills, techniques and conditioning drills are taught in a progressive format that emphasizes how the skills apply to game situations. Its unique skill award program provides incentives and motivation for skaters to continue to achieve. |
